Moonland Category Maintenance
Region-based categories (i.e. for Magi from Naroom) have fallen behind schedule and need to be updated. To help organize maintenance by Moonland, I'll be making a listing of how many pages will need to be re-categorized per region. I'll work on the smallest group first to make certain that everything works out properly before progressing on the maintenance. As I have been unable to get a bot set up on my Mac thus far, all of this will be done manually. Anyone with a bot working can join in as well - comment below or in the Bot thread if you're interested.

File Maintenance
As a part of the ongoing maintenance and overhaul project, files (primarily images) also need to be cleaned up significantly. These guidelines will be used to complement the existing Image Policy and will detail some of the primary factors going into file maintenance.
- File Usage
Every file uploaded to the wiki must be usable on at least one (1) article unless a special exemption is given. Moreover, an image should not be uploaded without immediate intent to use the file on a page. So, an image of Trulb should not be uploaded unless a) the Trulb page already exists or b) the uploader intends to begin an article for Trulb. Any unused file may be subject to deletion, and files which cannot be used on existing articles will undergo deletion.

iMagine update: 0.03
For the first time, I've actually had a release on the day it was scheduled, not a few days before! Having an hour-long car ride helps! Of course, I forgot to download asunit so I couldn't get that done until today!
Hot off the presses, it's v0.03! Please note that the test suite does not work in v0.03 unless you first make generate-version-file or make build. This was an oversight that was corrected in a commit immediately afterwards. There is no need for a hotfix as the binaries are identical, however please note that testing the tagged version will result in buggy version() information.
In this release, we've got our first-ever official bugfix: Trying to run a variable as a function, instead of throwing a complicated error in your faā¦
iMagine update: 0.02
I was expecting at least a week for the features I had planned but they went quick! Since I don't want to hold myself up, let's bundle it up and call it a release!
Here is the release SWF for 0.02! I re-did the versioning system. I expect to do one to two releases per week with a few key features in each.
I'll be gone all day Thursday so no new commits that day. Up for 0.03 is documentation as well as cleaning up a couple bugs. We'll also be adding a couple useful tests (checking if 2 equals isn't going to help us that much :p)
Future plans are to put in all of Tony's dream creatures by 0.04, all of Edyn's dream creatures by 0.05, and all of Strag's dream creatures by 0.06, in addition to features within those releases.

iMagine update: 0.01
Here's the latest on iMagine:
- 1 This release
(0.01)
- 1.1 Features
- 1.1.1 Drone.io
- 1.1.2 magine and tothedreamplane
- 1.1.3 Furok & energyblast
- 1.2 Bug Fixes
- 1.3 Outstanding bugs
- 1.1 Features
- 2 To-Dos

- 2.1.2 Ugger & Freep (#6) (DONE)
- 2.1.3 Display energy (#7) (DONE)
- 2.1 0.02
Thanks to drone.io, we get nearly instant feedback on whether a commit built successfully or not (unfortunately we have to download the entire library before testing which takes ~1 minute... that will be resolved on Drone.io's end in the coming weeks, see issue #4). I also just set up a script to upload it directly to my Dropbox, so the bleeding edge of the game will be available here.
The basic magine and tothedreamplane functions are back in place, along with decreasing 100 enerā¦
iMagine is BACK!!!
Sorry about the teaser post yesterday, but iMagine is officially back! I talked it over with our legal team (AKA a guy I know whose dad is a lawyer) and it would be fine to do as long as we put some restrictions on the software. Also, the person leading FTG:R, the project this code was supposed to turn into, dropped off the face of the earth, so that has been discontinued. The entire project will be open-sourced on GitHub.
Here are my plans:
- 1 1.0
- 2 2.0
- 3 2.1
- 4 2.2
Final release under FTG:R, almost ready to be packaged just needs a quick bug check. Probably this afternoon but if not sometime early next week.
COMPLETE rewrite of the parser in ActionScript instead of PHP. PHP was a mistake to begin with.
Battle system.
Mission system.

iMagine revival
I will be away until tomorrow morning and I'll make a fuller post then but I just wanted to post this now. I'm strongly considering reviving iMagine as a flash game this summer.

Policy
It's come to my attention that there's really not much of a policy section on the Magi-Nation Wiki. While few policies may sound nice, it's this lack of guidelines that's led to many of the current issues faced on the Magi-Nation Wiki.
Before delving into some of the guidelines, it's important to say that this isn't a time of pointing fingers but instead a time of moving forward. Look, I was still a young teenager when I founded this wiki. Most of what I've learned about wikis has come through trial-and-error over the past 6 years. So here are a few things that should be looked at being added as official policies / guidelines.
- Micro-Editing
Multiple minor edits in succession should be avoided when at all possible. It's one thing to notice somā¦

Overhaul
Content on the Magi-Nation Wiki is undergoing major re-vamping per forum discussion.
| | | | | | |
Most articles on the MNW should be checked to see if they need
to have their content edited and re-organized. These pages also
need Infobox templates to be added and begin with the topic's name,
in bold. Any and all media bias must be removed.
Articles need to be properly categorized by type (Dream Creature, Magi, etc.). Categories should be sub-categorized logically such that content can be searched from the more basic categories by selecting more specific categories.
DoneImage categorization needs to be updated. All images should include subject categorizations (i.e. Category:Agram) as well as a source categorization (CCG set, episode, video gamā¦
GBC Tier Lists
This page contains lists that rank Dream Creatures that appear in Magi-Nation's GBC game based on their usefulness in different respects. These lists are meant to be used as a quick reference for choosing Dream Creatures for use throughout the game.
Note that these rankings are unofficial and are determined more or less by their maker's personal opinions. They have however, undergone reasonable review and discussion.
This list ranks Dream Creatures based soley on their overall performance at level 60, making it more useful for games where practicality is much less of an issue, such as a New Game+. Traits emphasized are abilities learned by level 60 and overall stats. Dream Creatures are listed alphabetically within each tier.

iMagine canceled :(
Unfortunately, I just got an email from DHX media and they told me to cancel it. I'm going to try to reuse the code for another game I'm making (this time on our own).
For anyone interested, I'm going to make a proposal to a "company" (not really a company but more an organization) that I work for called Fightmon that we take over this game, but renaming all of the characters and creatures to the new game, in addition to changing the story and everything. I'll make another blog post on how that turns out, but after that, anything won't be related to this wiki.
Unfortunately, because I can't find the TV show anywhere, I won't be able to do anything constructive on this wiki until they upload the episodes to their Youtube channel (which I'm ā¦
Features to come with iMagine
I know I just posted about the 0.2 beta, which will come out on November 27 (unless I hear back from Cookie Jar). The full version will come out on December 1 (which will be exactly like the beta unless I have to do bug fixes). 0.1 is already out and available for you to test.
Here are my plans for the future of the game:
- 1 0.3
- 2 0.4
- 3 0.5
- 4 Beyond that
Hopefully out by Christmas, this update allows you to update the game directly from your console. Not much in terms of front-end changes. I'll upload this to the development branch on November 27, then to Alpha once it's finished and needs to be tested, then Beta once we're pretty sure we're done testing, then to Master once we're finished.
- A new command, tentatively called "version", which allowsā¦
iMagine 0.2 Status Update
Even though I'm having problems getting permission from Cookie Jar to make iMagine (I haven't heard a response from them in over a month), I'm still developing the game on my own computer, and I'll upload what I have once I can get the OK from Cookie Jar.
The version that's up now is called version 0.1, and the next version is 0.2. Some new features in 0.2:
- Switched from array-and-funcion structure to a class-based
structure. This is much less messy and it will allow us to add new
functions quickly
- I've also put in subclasses for each person and creature (only Furok, Ugger, and Freep are put in right now) so they can have their own unique actions
- Actions folder being depreciated in favor of the new classes folder. I will keep it for a couplā¦
Magi Nation taken off Netflix
Yep, you heard right. Magi Nation has been taken off Netflix. For the time being, iMagine is dead, because I can't find the show anywhere, other than a $2.99/month channel with only the first 10 episodes or purchase for $.99 an episode.
iMagine - a new Magi Nation game
After doing frantic searches for an archive copy of Battle for the Moonlands and trying an online version of the Game Boy Color Game, I decided to make my own Magi Nation online game. I call it iMagine. I have made a GitHub Repository of the source. You have to install a PHP server for it to work, instructions are attached in the readme.

Damage Formula
This is a currently researched issue. New findings may invalidate elements of this. These findings provide a fairly accurate prediction of damage in the current form (within 1 damage.)
- 1 Formula
- 1.1 Base Damage
- 1.2 Defense Limit
- 1.3 Luck Correction
- 1.4 Ability Multiplier
- 1.5 Elemental Multiplier
- 1.6 Defend Multiplier
- 2 Graphs
Note that Defense here refers to Resistance for Elemental Skills
Damage = (Base Damage - Defense * (Defense Limit) / 99 + Luck Correction) * Ability Multiplier * Elemental Multiplier * Defend Multiplier
Base Damage is a value determined by the Strength or Skill Stat, depending on the nature of attack used (physical or elemental). The relation between Base Damage and Strength is most similar to a four-part, continuous, piecewise functionā¦
