Images uploaded to the Magi-Nation Wiki must abide by the following guidelines. While exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis, all users are requested to ask permission before assuming they may make use of an exception. For information regarding uploading images in general please see Help:Uploading files.
Copyright and Licensing[]
For legal reasons, every single image must include licensing information in the form of a licensing template. Doing so is the sole responsibility of the uploader. Any images which do not adhere to these licensing standards may be removed from the Magi-Nation Wiki with no prior warning.
Additionally, no image is permitted to contain any watermark aside from those of the ultimate copyright holders or of the broadcasting network. The individual, group, or website who took a screenshot or who scanned a card or comic page has no legal ownership of such an image.
Filenames[]
Filenames should be descriptive of the file's subject. File names such as File:Vlcsnap-2013-01-05-00h26m08s127.jpg or File:Screen shot 2013-07-26 at 9.32.53 AM.png should be avoided entirely. "Cute titles" should be avoided as they can become deceiving and are harder to locate via search.
Images also should include source information when possible. MND, CCG set abbreviations, GBC, GBA, TV, and MMORPG are the primary source designations. For screenshots of the TV series, it's useful to add S#E## (with the season and episode number filled in) at the beginning of the file name. Doing so will also group screenshots within a character's image gallery by episode.
Duplicate Images[]
Users should check for duplicate images before uploading. The easiest way to do so is to check under the image category for the topic in question. Duplicate images are considered to include images that are identical or which serve the same purpose.
Permitted Sources[]
Users are also required to cite the source of any uploaded images by categorizing the image by CCG set, episode, video game, or website source. Permitted website sources include official sites and network sites. Fan sites are not the copyright holders of any Magi-Nation art. Fan art is permitted only within user blogs and may only be uploaded by the artist.
Unused Images[]
This wiki is not your personal image host. All uploaded images must have an actual use on the wiki. If no article corresponding to the image has been created, the image may be archived (deleted). If a previously-archived image gains a use, the file can be restored by local administration.
Infobox Images[]
Infobox images, when at all possible, should have a standardized aspect ratio to prevent awkward formatting of the Infobox particularly when using multiple images via the tabber. The following are permitted width-to-height ratios:
